Individual Therapy

Many struggles we experience within ourselves may be the result of exposure to violence and interpersonal traumas, including experiences of marginalization, oppressive systems, and social injustices. Trained in several trauma-focused modalities, I work with you to hold the past and the present together in order to examine places you feel stuck. We will explore ways to move toward deeper congruence with your values, a safer relationship with your own body, and more vulnerable and authentic connections with your loved ones.

Family/Relationship Therapy

Our relationships are the most meaningful and important parts of our lives, and sometimes we need help navigating differences, hurt, or harm that has impacted our ability to love each other well. I help families, friends, and/or romantic partners explore places of pain such as values and cultural misalignment, healing after trauma, and learning how to improve communication. Rupture does not have to mean the end of your relationships. In fact, relationships that learn to repair well are stronger than relationships that have never had a rupture at all!

Purity Culture Recovery Groups

Did you know that some people who grew up in purity culture have symptoms that are similar to people who experienced childhood sexual abuse? The impact of a sexually shaming culture can be subtle, but leave deep wounds. This group focuses on the process of leaving purity culture in order to reclaim our bodies and heal from sexual shame and trauma. We are open to people from all genders and religious backgrounds. You may reside in Illinois, New York, or any PsyPact state. This will be a process focused, virtual group that runs for for approximately 10 weeks.

Therapeutic Book Club

There are so many incredible self-help books on the shelves, and it can be really hard to work through them alone. In this group, we slowly work through one book at a time to process and learn together. I provide both psychoeducational and therapeutic support as we work through the content and exercises to support your healing. This group has a process component, but is predominantly content focused. Our current book selection is Break the Cycle: A Guide to Healing Intergenerational Trauma by Dr. Mariel Buqué. You are only required to commit to the group for one book at a time, but you are welcome to stay on for multiple books!

Clinical Supervision

I have been a Clinical Training Director and Adjunct Professor since 2017, and training the next generation of therapists is truly one of my favorite things to do. In supervision, we will pay particular attention to the therapeutic relationship, the person of the therapist, the frame of therapy, burnout prevention and recovery, working cross culturally, developing unconditional positive regard for difficult clients, and trauma-informed care. Group supervision may also be available at a lower rate.

EMDR Intensives

While Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can be done in a typical weekly session format, EMDR intensives often allow for us to move through an entire memory in one extended session. This type of processing may not be appropriate for everyone or every type of memory, but can also be helpful when coming back to a traumatic memory every week can feel logistically or emotionally impossible. These sessions are scheduled on an as needed basis rather than a weekly basis and may occur outside of typical office hours.
